Alabama – Christmas/New Year

Home / Campgrounds / Alabama – Christmas/New Year

After leaving SC we spent a week in two nice Georgia State Parks, Skidaway and Georgia Veterans State Park.  Both were very nice parks and would return to both.  Across the street from the entrance to Georgia Veterans State Park was a fabulous meat market someone had told us about.  We would definitely love to go back to that.

We discovered before Thanksgiving that many people go camping over Holidays.  The park we stayed at for Thanksgiving was completely full with large groups enjoying their Thanksgiving dinners outside.  We made sure we had reservations for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.  We have stayed at Gunter Hills Corp of Engineers Park several years ago and loved it so that was where we spent a few weeks over Christmas and New Year.  A very lovely COE Park outside of Montgomery, AL.  It was very strange being by ourselves for Christmas and I had a few tough days feeling very homesick for the grandkids especially but our plans were to go to MN in January to await the arrival of our new granddaughter January 18th and then have Christmas with everyone January 28th.  Time goes by so fast so I knew before we could blink an eye we would be with our kids and grandkids.

Love to all!!
